I don’t get a 404 when I click on a link that already exists. I get an Internal Server Error. Same difference as the 404? Or is it because I am using the 2nd option permalink structure instead of /%postname%/ ?

An hour later, your tutorial worked great, (Ipswitch also has a good tutorial on its site), WS_ftp is on my computer and works fine … but no better than the GoDaddy on-board ftp. The image still didn’t upload to my site. Damn! The html works great putting the pic up on my own computer … back to messin’ around.

Q, Wow! Am I your first student? I’m a high school teacher of physics trying to get a club website up hosted by GoDaddy. Joomla confused the hell out of me, so I’m letting Dave K. of DaveSite.com teach me html — he’s done a great job with his tutorial – my stuff goes up nicely — having fun — but images won’t go up. I’m assuming the GoDaddy ftp client won’t handle the amount of data for pics (they warn you its limited) so I’m try WS_ftp . So you’ll be my next instructor, Queen. Here goes with the download now …

I think it is probably beyond my expertise. If you FTP into your site, can you see the .htaccess file?

Eric Blackwell may know the answer. You could email him thru his post on BloodhoundBlog linked above.

Also, Googling “wordpress permalink htaccess godaddy” will bring up a lot of interesting information
