Usual Disclaimer: I was new to WordPress.org. when I posted this back in January 2008 on Active Rain. The screen shots are of older versions of both WordPress.org and GoDaddy, but the instructions are still valuable.
Most likely this will not happen to you. But let’s just say your DSL connection puked while you were in the middle of your WordPress.org install on GoDaddy. (It did, in fact, happen on one of my installs.)
You go back to http://www.mysite.com/blog/wp-admin/install.php with the intention of reinstalling, and you are greeted with this message:

You cruise some WordPress forums looking for the answer on just how to clear your old database table, and discover alot of the answers are just noisy nonsense.
With one exception. The answer written by Richard, “computerfriend”. here: http://wordpress.org/support/topic/146965
I’ve made some screen shots using GoDaddy to illustrate the answer, just in case anyone does run into this little hiccup.
First, understand that clearing your database is something you do on your host. (In our example here, GoDaddy) It’s not something you do with the Wordpress program.
So, sign in to your GoDaddy Account, click My Account.

Click Hosting & Email, then choose Web Hosting & Databases

In the Control Panel column, click Open beside the database you need to clear

Click Databases

Click MYSQL

Click Open Manager

Login to your Database. Remember your Database login name is probably different than your GoDaddy login

Click Databases

Click the name of your Database

Click Check All, then in the drop down menu, choose Empty, then click Go

The next screen will ask if you really want to …. click Yes

Now you can go back to http://www.mysite.com/blog/wp-admin/install.php and re-install.
Disclaimer: This is for a NEW installation — where you haven’t started customizing or writing posts yet.
